' 13 October 2000
• AGE-NC Project No 95-0111
certified analytical laboratory located in Pacheco, California Each sample was analyzed for the
following
' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d)by EPA
Method 8015-modified for each range of hydrocarbons, respectively,
• Volatile aromatic compounds-benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTE&X)
' and methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)by EPA Method 8020, and
• Oxygenated compounds - ch-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE),
' MTBE, tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) by EPA Method
8260 Modified
I
3.0. FINDINGS
' 3 1 GROUND WATER FLOW DIRECTION AND GRADIENT
l
The relative ground water elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground
ie water from the surveyed relative casing elevations The depths to ground water and relative ground
water elevations are tabulated In Table 1 The relative ground water elevations ranged from 9 55 feet
' in MW-6 to 1100 feet in MW-3 The ground water elevation decreased an average of 0 12 feet over
the last quarter
' The ground water flow direction at the site is towards the north-northeast which is consistent with
results obtained from previous quarterly momtonng events conducted The ground water gradient
is approximately 0 006 feet/feet The relative ground water elevation contours are depicted in Figure
I3
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was only detected In sample MW-5 at 72 micrograms per liter (µg/1) TPH-d was detected
in samples MW-4 and MW-5 at concentrations of 1,300µgll and 7,600,ug/l, respectively
Sample MW-3 was the only ground water sample to contain benzene at a concentration of 12 µg/1
Toluene was only detected in sample MW-5 at a concentration of 0 97 µg/l No other BTE&X
compounds were detected in the remaining samples
MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8020 in sample MW-1 only, at a concentration of 54 µg11
MTBE was reconfirmed in MW-I and detected ui MW-4 and MW-7 by EPA method 8260-modified
at concentrations of 67 1.tg/1, 5 5µg/1 and 3 7 4g11, respectively No other fuel oxygenated compound
Advanced GeoEnviroamental Inc
