November 26, 2018
Former Shell Service Station
434 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd., Stockton
Page 2
store/mini market, respectively. To the east of the Site, across California Street, there is a taco truck stand, a
barber shop, and a law office building. South of the Site is a vacant lot and residential buildings. To the west
of the Site, across a residential alley, there is a Domino's Pizza Restaurant and residential buildings.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
In order to delineate the lateral extent of impacted groundwater, WPI has proposed to install two groundwater
monitoring wells to the west and south of well MW-3. During the Third Quarter 2018 groundwater sampling
event, the depth to groundwater in wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 was approximately 21 feet; therefore, the
proposed wells will be screened from 15 to 30 feet.
Pre-field activities will include the following:
• Updating the existing WPI SSHP, as necessary;
• Scheduling subcontractors;
• Obtaining necessary permits; and
• Notifying Underground Service Alert at least one week prior to commencement of work to perform an
underground utility clearance for the planned drilling location.
Prior to any excavation,a utility line survey will be performed to locate all underground utility lines at the site.
All boring locations will be air-knifed to a depth of five feet and to a width three inches larger that the width
of the lead drilling auger. Details of the soil sampling depths and procedures and estimated well installation
are in Tables 1 and 2 below.
Table 1, Soil Sampling Procedures
Number of Depth of Drilling Sample Sample Method Sample Analysis
Borings Boring Method Interval
feet feet
2 30 Hollow stem 5-30 Modified California TPPH,BTEX,oxygenates,full scan
auger split spoon sampler VOCs by EPA 8260B;preserved by
EPA 5035 for VOCs.
Table 2, Estimated Well Construction Data
Number Type of Depth Casing Material Screen Filter Pack Well Seal Intervals
of Wells Well of Well Interval Interval (feet)
(feet) (feet) (feet) Bentonite Neat
Chis Cement
2 Groundwater 30 Blank:2-inch diameter, 15-30 13-30 10-13 1-10
monitoring schedule 40 PVC
Slotted Casing:4-inch
diameter,schedule 40 PVC
with factory milled 0.020-inch
slots
