WORK 'PLAN FOR <br />-� PRELIMINARY ;SOIL ASSESSMENT <br /> Chevron U.S.A., Inc. <br /> Chevron Service Station No. 9-4183 <br /> 236 N!1 Ham Lane <br /> Lodi,"California <br /> ProjectiNo.30-0614 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This work plan presents the proposed scope of work to conduct <br /> a preliminary site assessment at the Chevron Service Station <br /> No. 9-4183 located at 236 N. Ham Lane, Lodi, California. <br /> Figure 1 is a site plan showing the proposed ten exploratory <br /> boring locations. <br /> The proposed scope of work is' to: ( 1 ) quantitatively assess <br /> the presence or absence of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil <br /> prior to underground storage tank replacement activities; and <br /> (2 ) develop an appropriate course of action for the disposal <br /> of potentially hydrocarbon-impacted soil generated during <br /> drilling. <br /> 2.0 PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The proposed preliminary site investigation work will be <br /> conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and <br /> guidelines of the California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board, Central Valley Region :(RWQCB) and the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division - <br /> (PHS-EHD) . The scope of proposed work includes the following <br /> tasks: <br /> Task A: Conduct Underground Utility Survey and Acquire j <br /> Necessary Permits <br /> Prior to commencement of field work, all underground utility <br /> lines will be located and necessary drilling permits will be <br /> obtained. <br /> Task B: Drill Exploratory Soil Borings j <br /> Each of the ten soil boring locations will be probed with a <br /> hand auger to a depth of five; feet below grade to ensure that j <br /> there are no subsurface utilities present. The borings will, <br /> be drilled to a total depth of approximately 20 feet below <br /> grade. The borings will be terminated if ground water or <br /> 1 <br /> i <br />
