EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> Mar'ke i g <br /> Tosco <br /> " t nb Company . <br /> Service Station 5447. <br /> 1469 E. Hammer Laine, <br /> i <br /> Stockton, California. <br /> The site is located at the 1469 E. Hammer Lane in Stockton, California. Thesite is l <br /> currently an operating service station and mini-mart. To meet 1998 UST standards, the <br /> USTs and product lines are being replaced. i <br /> In accordance with`the work- plan on file 'with San Joaquin r County Public Health <br /> Department, Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) dated December 22, 1997, the., <br /> following work will be performed: <br /> 1) removal of the gasoline USTs and associated product lines and dispensers; 2) <br /> sampling of soil beneath these facilities to evaluate the presence or absence of petroleum i <br /> hydrocarbons in soil at the subject site; 3)pumping of groundwater, if encountered, from <br /> the UST pit and the collection of a groundwater:grab sample; and 4) over-excavation of <br /> hydrocarbon-impacted soil to the maximum depth of 25 feet below ground surface. <br /> Applicable permits for the removal of USTs andn roduct piping will be obtained b <br /> p pp � Y <br /> Tosco's contractor prior to the start of any work. New USTs and associated product ' <br /> piping and dispensers will be installed after the existing facilities are removed. <br /> Work will be performed during weekday daylight hours. Earth moving equipment may <br /> include a backhoe, an excavator, a loader, and other equipment, as appropriate. <br /> Excavated soils and debris that contains petroleum hydrocarbons will be temporarily <br /> stored onsite for a maximum of 30 days and underlain by and covered with plastic <br /> sheeting, or with approval from SJCEHD, transported to Forward Landfill's holding cell <br /> for characterization prior 'to disposal at Forward Landfill in Manteca, California. . ' <br /> Excavation activities will be observed by SJCEHD and PACIFIC representatives. Soil <br /> samples will be collected and analyzed per SJCEHD requirements. Upon receipt of. <br /> sample results, PACIFIC will prepare and submit to SJCEHD, a letter report <br /> summarizing removal activities and sampling results,.
