• <br /> Winston#FI83 <br /> Stockton,CA <br /> ' August B,2002 <br /> 4.0 SITE RECONNAISSANCE <br /> t4.1 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS <br /> No evidence of current or past use of underground storage tanks(USTs)was observed at the Site during the <br /> site visit(i.e., no vent pipes, pavement patch work,pump islands, or fill ports were observed) or reported to <br /> ' SECOR through records reviews and interviews. <br /> 4.2 ABOVE GROUND STORAGE TANKS <br /> ' One approximately 200-gallon steel aboveground storage tank(AST) was observed at the Site. The AST <br /> was being used,for storage of new motor oil and was located inside the stcrage area on the east side of the <br /> building. There were no obvious leaks in the AST and only a small amount of staining in the concrete <br /> floor was observed. <br /> 4.3 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AND STORAGE CONTAINERS <br /> 1 <br /> 4.3.1 Batteries <br /> ' Approximately 20 new batteries were being stored in the service garage near the showroom <br /> entrance. No used batteries were observed on the Site. <br /> ' 4.3.2 Air Compressors <br /> One air compressor was noted at the Site. The air compressor is located in the southeast corner of <br /> the storage area. There appeared to be a minor amount of ail leaking from the top of the <br /> ' compressor. However,there was no evidence of oil dripping on the floor.No significant surface <br /> staining or environmental issues were noted in the area of the air compressor. <br /> ' 4.3.3 Parts Washers <br /> One parts washer was observed at the Site. The parts washer was located in the storage area on the <br /> east side of the building. No staining or environmental issues were observed in the area of the parts <br /> ' washer. <br /> 4.3.4 New Oil Storage <br /> ' New oil was stored in the AST in the storage room along the east side of the building. There were <br /> containers of oil packaged for retail sale stored on shelves in the back of the storage area. No <br /> staining or environmental Issues were noted in the area of the AST or the retail oil containers <br /> ' 4.3.5 Used Oil Storage <br /> Used oil was stored in three 55-gallon drums within secondary containment units in the south end of <br /> the storage area. The used oil is periodically removed for off-site recycling by Asbury <br /> ' Environmental Services.Minor staining of the concrete floor around the drums was noted_However, <br /> the staining was limited in extent and there were no cracks or drains in the concrete floor that <br /> would allow spilled material to reach the subsurface environment. No environmental issues were <br /> ' noted in the area of the storage drums. <br /> ' 4.3.6 New Antifreeze Storage <br /> New antifreezein one-gallon containers was stored on shelves in the storage area along the east side <br /> of the building.
