(DECON) contracted with Herrick <br /> k� Corporation to remove and dispose of four underground fuel storage <br /> tanks at the Stockton Steel Plant in Stockton. The tanks include <br /> three diesel tanks with the capacities of `10, 000 gallons, 8,000 <br /> gallons and 3, 000 gallons. There was also one 10,000 gallon <br /> gasoline tank. The tanks were located under a dirt lot to the West F <br /> of the steel warehouse. ' <br /> Permits <br /> Permits were required ; from San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS) and San Joaquin <br /> C� County Bureau of Fire Prevention. A backfill certificate was sent <br /> .to San Joaquin County Community Development after the excavation <br /> was backfilled to verify that the material and compaction met <br /> Uniform Building Codes. DECON applied for and received all the <br /> necessary permits.
