Hammer Lane SITE CODE: 1124
Stockton, CA 95209
On March 17, 2011, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
made a tentative approval of the Corrective Action Plan (CAP), dated December 9,
2010, prepared by your consultant Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (GZAI). In the CAP,
GZAI recommends in-situ chemical oxidation to remediate ground water contamination
caused by the unauthorized release from the former on-site underground storage tanks
(USTs). The injection of hydrogen peroxide (chemical oxidant) into the ground water
will be performed using two proposed on-site injection wells.
The required public participation period for CAP has been completed. No comments
were received from the public by the EHD for the proposed remediation plan. The CAP
approval is considered final and it should be implemented as soon as possible.
The injection of the proposed hydrogen peroxide (chemical oxidants) must be approved
by the Central Valley Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) prior to implementation
of the CAP. The CVRWQCB may require a Report of Waste Discharge and have Waste
Discharge Requirements. Prior to injection, you must comply with all the CVRWQCB
requirements.
The EHD has issued permit SR#062938 for the two proposed injection wells. Please
contact the EHD 48 hours prior to drilling to schedule the required grout inspections.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, please contact Harlin Knoll at
(209) 468-3442.
?4' xs-' -_ /
Harlin Knoll, REHS Nuel C.
