HAMMER LANE
STOCKTON CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) is the lead agency providing the oversight of the investigation and
cleanup of releases from underground storage tanks within San Joaquin County.
PHS/EHD has a contract with California State Water Resources Control Board to
conduct an underground storage tank corrective action program. The above
referenced site was placed in the PHS/EHD Local Oversight Program (LOP) in March
1987.
PHS/EHD has completed review of the report prepared by Resna Industries Inc.
dated October 27, 1994 titled CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN. The report contains site
specific information and evaluates remedial alternative that could be used to
correct the effects of the release from the underground storage tanks previously
use at your site.
Of the 3 alternatives considered by your consultant (passive remediation, soil
vapor extraction with groundwater extraction, groundwater extraction and passive
soil remediation) the later was chosen for corrective action. PHS/EHD is not
convinced this corrective action program choice is the most efficient or
effective in cleaning up soil and groundwater at your site.
PHS/EHD recommends we meet with you and your consultant to review the extent of
soil and groundwater contamination and the active technologies available for both
soil and groundwater cleanup.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
L
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Diane M.
