Woodward-Clyde
3.0
FINDINGS
3.1 SOIL ANALYTICAL RESULTS
C A total of 36 soil samples from seven soil borings were selected for chemical analysis and
analyzed for TPH as diesel and TPH as gasoline using modified EPA Method 8015, and
BTEX using EPA Method 8020. The analytical results of soil samples collected during the
L tank removal activities are presented in Table 1 for reference. Analytical results of soil
samples collected from the soil borings (Phases I, II, III) is presented in Table 2. Analytical
Claboratory reports for the soil and groundwater samples are presented in Appendix C.
r 3.1.1 Direct Push Technology Soil Sampling
L
Laboratory analysis results of the selected soil samples collected from the soil borings using
Direct Push Technology were below the detection limit of the analytes tested except for
samples B-3-1, B-3-5, B-3-7, B-5-4, and B-6-3. These samples had detectable concentrations
tof TPH as diesel and non-detectable concentrations of TPH as gasoline and BTEX
(Table 2). Sample B-3-1 collected from 17.5 to 18 feet bgs contained detectable
concentration of 7.4 mg/Kg (parts per million-ppm) TPH as diesel. Sample B-3-5 collected'
from 25.5 to 26 feet bgs contained detectable concentration of 1.4 mg/Kg TPH as diesel.'
' Sample B-3-7 collected from 35.5 to 36 feet bgs contained detectable concentration of 29'
mg/Kg TPH as diesel. Sample B-5-4 collected from 17.5 to 18 feet bgs contained detectable
concentration of 20 mg/Kg TPH as diesel. Sample B-6-3 collected from 16.5 to 17 feet bgs"
contained detectable concentration of 8.6 mg/Kg TPH as diesel. A summary of analytical
results of all soil samples collected from the soil borings is presented in7able 2.
L
3.1.2 Hollow Stem Auger Soil Sampling
Laboratory analysis results of selected soil samples collected from soil boring B-3A were
below the detection limits for TPH as diesel, TPH as gasoline and BTEX (Table 2).
8054MEMA/KJAXPIER.M/8-24-95 SAC 3-1
