10.0
DATA REDUCTION, VALIDATION, AND REPORTING
10.1 FIELD AND TECHNICAL DATA
Both objective(measurement) and subjective(descriptive) data are subject to validation. All data
collected in the field will be documented following the procedures detailed in the Sampling Plan.
Objective data will be validated at the time of collection (e.g., triplicate measurements), and
checked by the Field Task Leader to ensure that correct codes and units have been included.
After data reduction into tabular or figure form, the objective data will be reviewed for
anomalies and inconsistencies by the WCFS Project Manager. Any problem data will be
resolved:or clarified by evaluation of the raw field data, equipment calibration logs, etc., and
consultation with field personnel.
Subjective field and technical data will be evaluated by the WCFS Project Manager for
reasonableness an&completeness. Whenever possible, peer review will also be used in order j
to maximize consistency in data evaluation.
? 10.2 LABORATORY DATA
The laboratory used for this study will be required to submit data that are supported by sufficient
backup information and quality assurance results to enable reviewers to determine the quality
of the data. For AST projects,: the data quality objectives make full validation of reported
results unnecessary. Critical elements such as calibration, blank quality, duplicate precision, and
matrix spike recoveries will be reviewed by the Project Chemist, who will then release the data
for use or recommend further sampling or,analysis. Review will be in accordance with
C applicable portions of the USEPA National Functional Guidelines. Individual sample results,
however, will not be qualified. Instead, a short report will discuss the results of the review in
terms of.data appropriateness and usability.
L;
I
8054 c:\8054\kjax.gap 15
