Er
I
I
11.0
_INTERNAL QC CHECKS
Control of the quality of the analytical data will involve collection of field sample duplicates and
Cblanks; spiking of samples by.the laboratory; and laboratory analysis of blanks, spikes,
duplicates, and reference materials. All laboratory quality control procedures specified in the
selected method protocols will be implemented and documented. Quality control checks of field
sampling will consist of blank and duplicate samples.
The laboratory quality control program is structured to provide consistent results of known and
documented quality. Any data package in which specific samples do not meet QC criteria will
be brought to the attention of the Project Manager by the data review staff. The Project
Manager; will discuss with the chemistry staff, if necessary, the appropriateness of using
C analytical results of samples in which the calibration checks or related blanks, spikes, and
duplicates are not within these standards.
i
Field QC procedures will involve field calibrations and testing, as well as cross-contamination
prevention procedures described in the Sampling Plan. All draft and final reports generated will
be subject to internal quality assurance and peer review procedures, in which all reports are
reviewed by senior technical staff. Any revision or corrections required by the senior technical
reviewer will be incorporated into the report before its release to FEMA.
r I
6
C
C
C
8054 cA8054\kjaz.gap 16
