(ContiGroup) French Camp Grain Elevator facility at 9504 South Harlan Road
in French Camp. The QMR discusses the groundwater monitoring activities conducted in July
2002. The Report discusses the groundwater monitoring activities conducted in December and
the status of the groundwater extraction pilot test.
We have the following comments on the Report:
1. The Report states that ContiGroup submitted an application to obtain Waste Discharge
Requirements. Board staff has not received the Report of Waste Discharge Form 200.
2. Section 4.0 of the Report states the general concentration trend is stable or decreasing.
However, the figures showing plume extent show that the area with highest
concentrations is actually increasing in size. ContiGroup needs to provide a discussion of
the data that shows why it thinks the plume is stable.
3. The Report recommends changing the sampling frequency of wells MW-4A,MW-7A,
MW-7B, and MW-8B to annual. Board staff does not agree with this recommendation
because these wells will provide valuable data to determine the effects of the groundwater
extraction system.
By 28 March 2003,please submit a report with the results of the pilot test including
California Environmental Protection Agency
Q$ Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
