Wong:
As I mentioned on the phone earlier today,we are preparing to complete the field work for the
French Camp Grain Elevator site. Enclosed with this letter is a permit application for the last
remaining well to be installed: a 130 foot deep monitoring well with conductor casing down
to 85 feet. This is a continuation of work authorized with Well Permit#0025563, although we
OFFICES are using a different C-57 licenced driller; therefore we are seeking a new permit for the final
Boston monitoring well at this site. The Work Plan that we provided for permit 0025563 specifies
Massachusetts locations and construction details for this well. The only revision to our work plan is that we
Cleveland will be using a mud rotary drill rig instead of the originally proposed hollow stem auger. This
Ohio change is due to the difficult drilling conditions encountered at the site and our concern that it
would not be possible to install conductor casing with the auger rig. I have also attached a
Denver copy of the Regional Water Quality Control Board's(RWQCB) approval of the Work Plan.
Colorado
Plymouth We would like to continue using the existing account that has been set up for this site, with
Michigan billings to be directed to:
Hartford
Connecticut Dan Decker
Los Angeles ContiGroup Companies, Inc.
California 277 Park Avenue
Manchester New York,NY 10172
New Hampshire 212-207-5261
McLean
Virginia Our schedule calls for drilling to begin on Tuesday April 24, 2001. Well installation should
Newark be completed either on April 25 or April 26. Our field manager will be Joe Weidman who
New Jersey can be reached at 619-818-1767. The drilling and well installation will likely continue into
the following week. Thank you in advance for your review and approval of these well permit
Portland applications.
Maine
Rochester Sincerely,
New York HALEY&ALDRICH, INC.
San Diego
California `"`1,'-1p7
San Francisco James T.Wes,Ph.D.
California Senior Project Geologist
