Smith Technolo2ry SJTE SAFETY PLAN 1 <br /> FACILITY BACKGROUND <br /> In January 1988, two 12,000-gallon diesel underground storage tanks (USTs), one 101'000- <br /> gallon unleaded gasoline UST, one 750-gallon unleaded gasoline UST, and all associated <br /> piping and dispensing equipment were removed and disposed of. Laboratory;analysis of <br /> soil samples collected from beneath the former unleaded gasoline USTs locationsindicated <br /> the presence of detectable concentrations total petroleum hydrocarbons. After the:'tanks <br /> were removed, the areas of the former tanks were backfilled. <br /> WORK PLAN <br /> Task One: <br /> Supervise the installation of at least three soil borings to depths of approximately 30 <br /> feet. Two soil samples and one groundwater sample will be collected from ,each <br /> boring from areas which exhibit physical indications of contamination. Samples will <br /> be analyzed for BTEX and MTBE (EPA Method 8020), TPHg (EPA Method ,8015 <br /> Modified), and total lead. <br /> k <br /> PAGE <br />
