-2- %%./
3. Four to six additional samples will be taken to characterize
the rest of the site. The borings for these samples will be
drilled in a grid pattern to be determined in the field. Depths
of these samples will also be determined in the field. The
samples will either be taken in the capillary fringe or be
collected between three and five feet below grade.
Final locations and depths for all samples may be modified in the
field dependent on topography, subsurface structures or geology.
- Drilling will be completed by hollow stem augers and soil
samples will be collected using a split-spoon sampler . The
sampler will be scrubbed between borings with a trisodium
phosphate (TSP) solution or other suitable detergent and rinsed
in clean tap water .
- Soils will be logged by a California registered geologist or
geotechnical engineer. These samples will be analyzed for diesel.
Soil samples will be sealed, placed on ice and shipped to a
certified analytical laboratory for analysis. Samples will be
accompanied by chain of custody documentation.
A written report will be prepared summarizing the work performed
and the laboratory findings.
It shall be the client ' s responsibility to locate all underground
pipes, cables and other underground structures prior to drilling.
Prior to the commencement of any field work a permit must be
obtained from San Joaquin County. The estimate below does not
include charges by the County for permit review. The county
charges $35/hour for the review process ; they estimate
approximately 5 hours (including a field visit) and may take up
to three weeks. To expedite this process we may request priority
review at $52. 50/hour which will reduce the time to approximately
one week. The County will be asked to bill you directly for
this work. It is possible that the County may require some extra
work or analyses that have not been included in the above scope
of work. This will be determined during the permit review
process .
This proposal assumes that the holes can be backfilled with the
drill cuttings. if bentonite or cement plugs are required this
may require extra time or material costs.
