I <br /> GRANITE CONSTRUCTION <br /> WKA No 2088 07 <br /> April 7, 1995 <br /> Page 6 <br /> I <br />' The former diesel and gasoline UST excavations were lined with plastic and also backfilled <br /> following authorization from EHD The stockpiles of soil removed from the UST excavations <br />' were relocated to the locations shown on PIate 2 <br /> FIELD INVESTIGATION <br /> rAt the request of EHD and in accordance with our October 12, 1994 Soil and Ground Water <br /> Investigation Workplan, soil boring (B18) and monitoring wells (MW7 and MW8) were drilled <br />' on January 17, 1995 at the locations shown on Plate 3 <br /> The borings were drilled on January 17, 1995 by B & F Drilling using a Mobile B-61 drill rig <br /> equipped with 6-inch and 8-inch diameter hollow stem augers Soil boring B18 was advanced to <br /> a depth of approximately 20 feet below site grade, monitoring wells MW7 and MW8 were <br /> advanced to depths of approximately 40 feet below site grade Wells MW7 and MWS were <br /> installed with two-inch diameter schedule 40 PVC casing A detailed description of drilling, <br /> fsampling, and well construction procedures is contained in Appendix A <br /> A total of 12 soil samples and 8 ground water samples were collected from the soil boring, two <br /> newly constructed wells, and the six existing wells Selected samples were analyzed for Total <br /> Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline and diesel using EPA method 8015 Modified, <br /> Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylenes (BTEX) using EPA method 8020 and for Total <br /> Lead using EPA method 6010 <br />' Subsurface Soil Conditions <br /> IOne soil boring, B18, was drilled to a depth of 20 feet at the location shown on Plate 2 <br /> Subsurface soils encountered in soil boring B18 consisted of silty sand to a depth of at least 18 <br /> feet, underlain by a clayey silt to a depth of at least 20 feet Monitoring wells MW7 and MW8 <br /> were drilled to a depth of 40 feet below site grade Subsurface soils encountered in MW7 and <br /> WALLACE•KUHL <br /> Recycedpape, SASSOCIATES INC <br />
