GRANITE CONSTRUCTION
WKA No 20$$ 07
April 7, 1995
Page S
I
' Well Survey
' Review of available information and telephone interviews with the State of California Department
of Water Resources (DWR) and the San Joaquin County Flood Control District personnel
revealed that there are no municipal or irrigation wells located within a 2,000-foot radius of the
site The nearest irrigation well (DWR #12P01) is located approximately 2,600 feet southeast
from the site According to Mr Hop Essick of Granite Construction, two domestic wells are
' located on the site and are owned by Granite Construction Mr Jay Patel of DWR indicated that
there are no records of the two domestic wells located on the subject site These wells are
' located north of the former gasoline and diesel UST excavation as shown on Plate 2
CONCLUSIONS
Based on the analytical results of our investigation and previous investigations, it is our opinion
that no further site investigation is necessary to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of soil and
' ground water contamination It is estimated that approximately 6,000 to 6,500 cubic yards of
contaminated soil will require remediation in the vicinity of the former gasoline and diesel USTs
IIn addition, it is our opinion that the ground water contamination appears to be limited to the
vicinity of the former gasoline and diesel USTs based on the calculated ground water flow
' direction and analytical results of water samples collected from down-gradient monitoring wells
I Our well survey has revealed no local municipal and/or irrigation wells within a 2,000-foot
radius of the site The nearest irrigation well is located approximately 2,600 feet southeast of the
site
I
' RECOMMENDATIONS
' We recommend the next phase of work include the installation of three combined vapor
extraction/air-infection wells for the purposes of performing a vapor extraction and air sparging
' WALLACE KUHL
Recycled paper &ASSOCIATES INC
