Workp6.,For Additional Assessment and FeasiL.6, Study
Quik Stop Market No. 132
3555 West Hammer Lane
Stockton, Califomia
preparing a feasibility study to evaluate at least two remedial methods for reducing concentrations
of MTBE at the site.
SCOPE OF WORK
The following scope of work has been proposed to meet the objectives:
Task 1 Advance Borings and Collect Depth Discrete Groundwater Samples;
Task 2. Install a Two Well Cluster to the East of Soil Boring SB-3; and
Task 3. Prepare a Report of Findings and a Feasibility Study.
WORK DESCRIPTION
TASK 1 DEPTH DISCRETE GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
In order to perform this investigation effectively and efficiently, preparations for the fieldwork will
be made prior to mobilizing to the site. ATC will coordinate with key subcontractors including a
subsurface utility locator, a drilling contractor, and a State certified analytical laboratory. The soil
boring locations will be cleared prior to drilling by marking the location with paint and notifying
Underground Services Alert (USA). A Soil Boring Permit will be obtained from the PHS/EHD.
All project work will be performed under the direction of a California Registered Geologist
Depth discrete groundwater samples will be collected from a total of six borings, at both on-site
and off-site locations, in order to confirm the concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in
shallow groundwater at the site. Five of the locations will be adjacent to existing groundwater
monitoring wells, and one location will be east of Boring SB3 at a proposed groundwater
monitoring well location (see Task 2). The proposed locations of the borings are shown on
Figure 2. Off-site access will be obtained from the Taco Bell restaurant property owner and the
Burger King restaurant property owner.
ATC will retain the services of a licensed driller for advancing the boreholes using direct push
technology. USA will be notified of the proposed drilling activities to ensure that no utility lines
are located within the immediate vicinity of the soil borings. In addition, a sub-surface utility
locator will be contracted to provide a subsurface survey of utility lines and other buried objects in
and around the borehole locations.
2
