. y <br /> Quik Stop Market No. 132 <br /> Job No, 349132-31 August 28, 1990 <br /> Page S <br /> Groundwater Sampling <br /> Before sampling groundwater, an Exceltech geologist will field-;heck the monitoring <br /> wells with an interface probe or a clear acrylic bailer to check for the presence of free <br /> floating product, In monitoring wells where no floating <br /> will be purged of a minimum of 4 well casing vo umes ofl groundwater beforeach e <br /> sampling. .Purged water will be placed in Department of Transportation 17E drums, <br /> All important well sampling information will be included in the final report, The <br /> information will include pH, temperature, conductivity, and water volume removed. <br /> Samples will then be collected with a clean Teflon bailer and transferred to appropriate <br /> laboratory-supplied bottles. The samples will be analyzed for TPHG; benzene toluene, <br /> F ethyl benzene, and xylenes (BTEX); total lead; and organic lead. Each bottle will b <br /> labeled and logged on a chain-of-custody form and placed in a cooler containingice for <br /> transport to a California-certified laboratory. Appendix A includes the E eltect, <br /> Groundwater Sampling protocols, pF <br /> Sol[ Sampling Beneath Underground Storage Tanks <br /> i; <br /> Exceltech will attempt to sample the soil beneath both the east and the west side of the <br /> fuel storage tank complex. A narrow copper pipe will be affixed to the end of a robe <br /> and driven into the soil beneath the tank complex, It is anticipated that a narrow co <br /> may be collected be either driving a collection device <br /> through the gravel backfill or by <br /> first inserting a 2-inch PVC pipe to the base of the backfill and then lowering the <br /> sampling devise through the PVC to the native soil below. <br /> �r <br /> lel:PORT <br /> Exceltech will prepare a site investigation report presenting the findin s of the <br /> investigation.
