T <br /> 45 E Harding Way, Stockton, California September 1, 1993 <br /> Chevron USA Products Company Page 3 <br /> 3.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> ' 3.1 SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN / BACKGROUND REVIEW / PERMITTING <br /> Groundwater Technology revised the existing Site-Speclfic Health and Safety Plan required by the <br /> Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and <br /> Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 120) The Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan was <br /> revised by a Groundwater Technology personnel, following a complete review of site conditions and any <br /> existing Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans for the site with the project manager The document was <br /> reviewed and signed by all Groundwater Technology personnel and subcontractors personnel and <br /> I' subcontractors performing work at the site <br /> I <br /> Groundwater Technology conducted a technical review of all pertinent Information prior to proceeding <br /> with assessment work at the site All applicable permits pertaining to monitoring well installation were <br /> obtained (Appendix A) <br /> 32 SOIL BORINGS <br /> ' On June 29 and 30, 1993, Groundwater Technology drilled two soil borings utilizing a truck-mounted drill <br /> ng equipped with 8-inch outside-diameter (O D) hollow-stem augers The soil borings were drilled to <br /> depths of approximately 65-feet below grade to accommodate installation of monitoring wells MW-12 <br /> and MW-13 All dnlling equipment was steam-cleaned pnor to drilling each boring and sampling <br /> equipment was washed between sampling runs All rinse water generated as a result of the cleaning <br /> was contained In a DOT-approved purge water trailer and transported to the Chevron refinery in <br /> Richmond, California for recycling The soil from the bonngs was placed in 55-gallon drums and <br /> removed from the site using a Chevron approved and State certified waste hauler <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> 3399FAR RPT TECHNOLOCy <br />
