Weston, Inc.
83 West March Lane, Suite 12
Stockton, CA 95207
EXTENSION OF WORKPLAN DUE DATE, KOPPEL STOCKTON TERMINAL
Your 4 October 1994 request to extend the investigation workplan submittal date to
1 November 1994 is approved. This correspondence documents previous approval which was
given in a 12 October telephone conversation with Karla Brasaemle of your staff.
In that phone call, we discussed the number of ground water monitoring wells that the Regional
Board would normally require. I stated that a minimum of three wells should be installed, so that
triangulation could be used to determine the ground water gradient. This requirement applies
particularly for the subject project, since our goal is to compare data generated to data already
collected at the PM Ag (Unocal) and Cal-Farm Supply sites, so that the ground water hydrology of
the Port of Stockton area can be better understood.
Yesterday, David Marks of your staff was in our office reviewing files in connection with the Koppel
site. It is my understanding that Mr. Marks will be the project manager, and we talked about the
above issues. Also, I brought up the point that when the new monitoring wells are surveyed, they
need to be tied into the same monuments or benchmarks that were used for the PM Ag site. The
consultant for that site is John Rapp of Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants. He can be reached
at (916) 933-1468. I am still researching the surveying details for the Cal-Farm Supply site. For
your information, the consultant for that project is Kelye McKinney of Kennedy/Jenks Consultants,
and she can be reached at (916) 362-3251.
Thank you for your attention to the above matters. I look forward to working with you and David
until early next year, at which time Wendy Wyels is scheduled to return to the office. If you have
any/questions or concerns, please telephone me at (916) 255-3103.
CHRISTINE M.
