Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202-2708
Attn: Mr. Harlin Knoll
Re: Amended Work Plan
Beneto, Inc. Cardlock 10842 South Harlan Road, French Camp, CA
Introduction
CGG was on site with Mr. Harlin Knoll on February 10, 2006. He explained what had
taken place with the previous work done by MB Environmental Geology. This was
reported in their report dated January 11, 2005. We discussed the placement of the
three monitoring wells that CGG will be drilling.
SITE HISTORY
On December 20, 2004, MB Environmental Geology performed a limited phase II
investigation at this site. They drilled and logged five (5) borings.
Scope of Work
CGG plans to drill three monitoring wells on this site to analyze the distribution and
depth of the soils impacted with the diesel from the tank south of this site. The wells will
be drilled to a depth of 30 feet bgs.
The drilling and well installation of the monitoring wells will be performed by Spectrum, a
California licensed drilling company. These wells will be drilled using a hollow stem
auger. Soil core samples will be taken every 5 feet of vertical drilling and a core will be
taken as close to the capillary fringe as possible; also a core will be obtained and
sampled at the bottom of each well. The samples will be sent to Argon Laboratories for
testing of diesel. The drilling, logging and well installation will be logged and supervised
by a Registered Geologist.
All drill cuttings will be placed in steel sealed drums and left on site until we have the
laboratory results and then removed and properly disposed. Also any purged water will
be placed in drums and left on site and removed after the laboratory results.
The wells will be constructed by placing a 2 inch schedule 40 pipe, screwed together
from the bottom of the boring to the surface. The bottom 15 feet will be 0.02 inch slotted
casing and the remainder will be blank casing. Number#3 sand will be placed opposite
the slots and 2 feet above the last slot. Then a transitional seal of hydrated bentonite
