PROCEDURES <br />' All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California <br /> Registered Geologist Procedures for SVE/IAS well installation, underground SVE/IAS piping <br /> system installation, SVE system start-up period, sampling, monitoring, maintenance and <br />' progress/confirmation sampling are outlined below <br />' 41 DRILLING ACTIVITIES <br />' The following procedures will be performed prior to any digging/drilling activities <br /> • Prepare a Site Health and Safety Plan in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities - Prepared by National Institute for <br /> Occupational Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast <br /> Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, October 1985 <br /> • Notify the PHS-EHD a minimum of 48 hours prior to commencement of any work, while <br /> securing proper city/county soil boring or well permits <br />' • All drilling locations will be marked at least 48 hours in advance for an Underground Service <br /> Alert (USA) check of underground utilities or pipes <br /> I <br /> 42 SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM DESIGN <br />' Initiation of an SVE system is proposed within the care petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted area The <br /> SVE system will consist of two existing SVE wells (VW-1 and VW-2) in addition to three new SVE <br />' wells SVE well locations are depicted in Figure 3 <br /> An SVE vacuum blower/carbon cannister-based extraction system is proposed for hydrocarbon vapor <br /> recovery at the site The air stream will enter the SVE system using a 3 horsepower regenerative <br /> vacuum blower The extracted vapors will pass a 55-gallon steel water vapor knock-out drum Two-, <br /> inch diameter, schedule 80 PVC piping will be Installed underground from each SVE well-head to <br /> the inlet of the vacuum blower, the outlet of the vacuum blower will be routed through three <br /> sequential 55-gallon carbon canisters A Magnehelic vacuum gauge will be attached to the inlet of <br /> the blower The air flow and vacuum will be monitored using a Dwyer DS-200 flow sensor, the flow <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
