AGE-NC Project No 04-1239 <br /> Page 2of5 <br /> through Underground Service Alert <br /> 22 DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> AGE proposes to advance a total of four pilot soil borings at the site for the Installation of ground <br /> water monitoring wells Using a CME-75HT truck-mounted drill ng equipped with 8 25-inch <br /> hollow-stem augers, two pilot borings will be advanced to a depth of 40 feet below surface grade <br /> (bsg)and two pilot borings will be advanced to a depth of approximately 65 feet bsg The total depth <br /> of each well boring may vary according to geologic/hydrogeologic conditions encountered during <br /> drilling Locations of the ground water monitoring wells are as follows <br /> • Two borings (one each to 40 feet and approximately 65 feet bsg) will be advanced at the <br /> former UST area(near boring 133)to monitor the core of the dissolved hydrocarbon mass and <br /> assess the vertical extent of dissolved hydrocarbons, and <br /> • Two borings (one each to 40 feet and approximately 65 feet bsg) will be advanced <br /> approximately 50 feet north-northeast(down-gradient)of well MW-9 to monitor the lateral <br /> and vertical migration of the dissolved hydrocarbon mass (Figure 2) <br /> Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services <br /> (DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015M, and <br /> r <br /> • Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and total xylenes(BTEX)and fuel additives methyl tertiary- <br /> butyl ether(MTBE),tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),ethyl tertiary- <br /> butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB),and 1,2- <br /> dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B <br /> -Laboratory reports of soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control - <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report of <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> 23 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT, AND SURVEY <br /> The four pilot soil borings will be completed as single-level ground water monitoring wells, the <br /> • shallow(40-foot)soil borings will be screened from 20 feet to 40 feet bsg,the deep soil borings will <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
