A "high-low" temperature recording thermometer will accompany sample <br /> ' shipments to ensure proper temperature maintenance. The samples will be delivered to <br /> a state certified laboratory following under chain-of-custody protocol within 48 hours of <br /> ' sampling, whenever possible. <br /> Soil in the uppermost brass tube will be described according to ASTM standard practice <br /> for description and identification of soils (ASTM D-2488-84). Stratigraphic, genetic and <br /> ' other data/interpretations will also be recorded. Soil properties may also be determined <br /> from the middle brass tube and from the sampler shoe. Alternatively the second sample <br /> ' tube may be used with the uppermost tube for preparation of duplicates.
