2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
Given that only the two deep vapor extraction wells (VW-1 and VW-2) are screened across the
current groundwater table elevation and that both VW-1 and VW-2 contain detectable
concentrations of TPH-as-gasoline, benzene and MTBE, two additional monitoring wells are
proposed to evlauate the downgradient extent of impacted groundwater and re-establish
groundwater monitoring capabilities at the site
To achieve these protect objectives, a scope of work consisting of the following four tasks is
proposed
1 Planning and Permitting
2 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation
3 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring, Sampling and Analysis
4 Project Reporting
A discussion of these tasks and component subtasks follows
2.1 Planningand Permittin
9
The planning and permitting task consists of preparing a site-specific health and safety plan and
acquiring a monitoring well permit
2 1 1 Health and Safety Plan
Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance
with 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan will include safety procedures, chemical
1 hazard information, site safety officers, and preferred medical emergency locations
212 Permits
Upon regulatory approval of this Work Plan and prior to initiating field work, a well permit will be
obtained from PHSIEHD Since all of the drilling activities will be conducted on the subject
property, neither an encroachment permit nor private property access agreements will be
required At least 48 hours prior to drilling, PHSIEHD and Underground Service Alert (USA)will
be notified so that regulatory and utility clearance inspections can be scheduled
I4
k'
