2 2 2 Well Development and Elevation Surve
After the monitoring wells are completed and the grout has had sufficient time to set (at least 72
hours), the wells will be fully developed and sampled Prior to developing a well, the well volume
will be calculated and documented To complete the well development, the well will be pumped
with a downhole electric pump until at least five (5) well volumes have been removed and
groundwater temperature, pH, electrical conductivity and turbidity have stabilized
A licensed surveyor will survey each of the newly installed wellheads and the two deep vapor
' extraction wells (VW-1 and VW-2) The surveyor will measure the elevation of the top of the well
casing to the nearest 0 01 foot, referenced to an established benchmark
2 2 3 Waste Disposal
Waste soil from the drilling operations will be stockpiled at the site on plastic sheeting Once
drilling is complete, the sod stockpile will be sampled to profile it for appropriate disposition
Since the soil borings are located outside of the defined plume of impacted soil, significant
detectable concentrations of gasoline hydrocarbons in the waste soil are not anticipated
All waste groundwater and equipment ansate wastewater will be contained in separate 55-gallon
drums for appropriate storage, transport and disposal
2 3 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring, Sampling and Analysis
Following development of the newly-installed wells, the newly-installed wells and the deep vapor
extraction wells (VW-1 and VW-2) will be monitored and sampled To monitor groundwater
contaminant plume concentration and stability and natural biodegradation rates, groundwater will
be monitored and sampled from these four wells on a quarterly basis for at least one year
During each of the quarterly monitoring and sampling events, depth-to-groundwater and free
product thickness (if necessary) will be monitored to each well using a water level indicator
capable of measurements to within 0 01 foot
Following liquid level measurement, each of the wells will be purged and sampled The wells will
be purged with decontaminated PVC bailers or downhole pumps until at least three (3) well
casing volumes have been extracted and/or after groundwater temperature, pH and electrical
conductivity values have stabilized Groundwater will be sampled from the wells using
6
