Reported analytical results are fairly
consistent with historical trends for the site. In the Report ATC recommends reducing
the sampling frequency of wells MW-10 and MW-11 to an annual schedule. The EHD
approves sampling well MW-11 on an annual schedule, and switching all other site
wells to a semi-annual schedule until such time as more frequent sampling may be
needed for monitoring remedial progress.
The Report also documents analysis of groundwater samples from two of the wells,
MW-3 near the source area, and MW-11 located cross-gradient and with a history of
no contaminant impact, for a few specific metals. Analytical results were non-detect
for metals in MW-3, but reported 1.2 micrograms per liter (lag/1) dissolved total
chromium and 0.9 pg/I hexavalent chromium in MW-11. These analyses were done
to determine if the site may be a candidate for remediation by ozone infusion.
In conversation with ATC the EHD discussed remedial options for this site and noted
that ozone infusion being performed at nearby sites may be used as a reference to
it's applicability at this site if it could be shown that the two sites are similar in their
geology and geochemistry. ATC states in the Report that the results of the metals
analyses for hexavalent chromium and dissolved chromium were similar to and
considerably lower than the results from a site located within one mile of this site
(Stockton City Cab Co., 2085 Fremont Street). The reported results of groundwater
analysis at the Stockton City Cab Co. were non-detect for hexavalent chromium and
0.0061 for dissolved chromium. No comparison of the subsurface geology of the two
sites was discussed.
