The
borings were made by use of flight-auger drilling equipment ,
under the direction of our field engineering staff , which main-
tained a continuous log of the soils encountered .
SUBSURFACE SOIL CONDITIONS
The exploratory borings and percolation test results dis-
closed that a permeable stratum of soil exists both vertically
' and laterally at depths of 42 inches in test sites , P-1 and P-2 .
In the area of these borings and test sites assuming that
conditions between the test borings and sites are equal to
or better than those encountered during our investigation , the
strata encountered should be adequate to absorb and transmit
water for drainage .
Subsurface soils are moderate in composition, and gener-
ally consist of silty sands , to clayey sandy silts .
The above represents a very general outline of the soil
conditions encountered during our investigation. A more detailed
description of the soils profiles for each test boring and site
are presented in the "Logs of Borings" which follow the site-
map at the conclusion of this report . All soils have been clas-
sified in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System
for which a standardized chart has been presented for reference.
0;> Q11ty C-trol Inspection
