NRC Equity Fund 1
5.1 Mitigation of Impact
The construction and operational noise levels are above County daytime standards
at the source but this is mitigated completely by distance and, at all sensitive
receptor locations, the noise is reduced to levels below the County-specified
Equivalent Continuous Sound Level (Leq). Distance is verifiably the mitigating
factor that renders the planned activities insignificant noise factors.
5.2 Construction Noise Analysis
For the purpose of this report, construction activities have been divided into two
short-term components: Construction site work and greenhouse installation. The
reason for exploring these two components separately is that they will require
different noise-generating equipment and, in the interest of due diligence, it was
believed that both should be thoroughly evaluated as a basis for mitigation. The
impact of the construction activities on all four noise receptors was calculated
using accepted methodologies. While the Project-related short-term construction
noise levels will exceed County limits at the source, they are not expected to be
close to those limits by the time they reach sensitive receptor locations.
EXTERIOR NOISE LEVELS GENERATED BY SHORT-TERM CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
CALCULATEDDECIBEL LEVEL FROM
• • : EQUIVALENT CONTINUOUS • • LEVEL
SOUR CE LEVEL OF
PARCEL NUMBER ONSITE ORIGINAL DESTINATION DB COUNTY
DB LEVEL PROJECTED -LEVEL LIMITS
5132010 - 1,457 Feet—444 Meters 93.1 22.2 50
5132006 2,028 Feet — 618 Meters 93.1 18.4 50
05132007 - 1,955 Feet— 596 Meters 93.1 18.9 50
5132005 - 710 Feet— 216 Meters 93.1 29.6 50
5129031 - 900 Feet— 274 Meters 93.1 38.5 50
5129006 - 961 Feet— 293 Meters 93.1 26.5 50
05129005 - 1,139 Feet— 347 Meters 93.1 24.8 50
5129023 - 1,500 Feet— 457 deters 93.1 21.9 50
5132013 - 1,088 Feet— 332 Meters 93.1 25.3 50
05132011 - 743 Feet — 226 Meters 93.1 29.1 50
05131032 - 1,364 Feet— 416 Meters 93.1 22.9 E: 50
05131049 - 1,410 Feet— 430 Meters 93.1 22.5 50
5131051 - 1,471 Feet— 448 Meters 93.1 22.1 50
5131046 - 1,625 Feet— 495 Meters 93.1 21.0IF 50
Page 21 54
