o During the time period between the initial ground breaking and the receipt
of confirmation soil samples results indicating soils containing in excess of
1.0 mg/kg DBCP have been removed, air monitoring using sampling and
analytical techniques appropriate to the characteristics of the fumigant(s)
and their exposure limit(s) will be conducted at the perimeter of the work
zone. Monitoring stations will be located at the perimeter of the work area
in sufficient number consistent with the physical layout of the operations
area and prevailing wind directions. At a minimum, one upwind and one
down wind monitoring sites will be used.
The duration of each air monitoring period shall be based on the capacity
of the air sampling technology employed, the intensity of the excavation
' activities and the analytical turn around time.
' 3.2.4 Arrangements with Public Safety Agencies
encies
The Health and Safety Plan will require notification
of local public safety
agencies and medical facilities to advise them of the character and schedule of
the excavation project.
' 12
