' 2.4.2 Future Land Use The City of Ripon General Plan 2040 map (September 19, 2006), Appendix B, suggests that current land uses are not expected to change significantly over the next 30 years. 2.5 DEMOGRAPHIC SURVEY The City of Ripon was established in 1872 and incorporated in 1945. The City is governed by a five-member City Council, with its mayor as the presiding officer. Data ' provided by US Census Bureau in the year 2000' estimated the population of Ripon at 10,146 of which approximately 75 percent were white, 12 percent were African American, four percent were Asian and nine percent were others. In addition, 75 percent of the population was above 18 years of age, and 12 percent was above the age of 65. The current City population as of January 2006 is 13,908, an increase of 6.2 percent per year since 2000. These interviews will give ' interviewees the opportunity to ask questions and express concerns about the Project and suggest ways of distributing Project information. ' A Project mailing list will be compiled for distribution of informative letters with written questionnaires to solicit information about public concerns.
