On 25 April 1991, we <br /> held a meeting to discuss our review of the Phase VI Report as well as other <br /> issues. Our review of the Phase VI Report and the minutes of the meeting is <br /> enclosed. <br /> Based on our discussions during the meeting and in a subsequent telephone <br /> conversation with Ms. Sara Black of CDM, the following agreements and <br /> recommendations were made regarding the ground water contamination investigation <br /> and remediation at the site. <br /> 1 . The ground water level monitoring program for all of the wells may be <br /> reduced from monthly to quarterly. <br /> 2. The ground water level monitoring program and the water quality monitoring <br /> program should coincide. We recommend that the Nestle select the wet season <br /> or winter quarter (January) for analysis/interpretation of the data as this <br /> quarter is not transitional and may represent the most quiescent hydraulic <br /> conditions. <br /> 3. Annual sampling of all of the wells should be conducted during the winter <br /> quarter. Presently, quarterly sampling is not conducted on all of the <br /> wells. Annual sampling of all of the wells would give the most complete <br /> data base for data analysis/interpretation. <br /> 4. The wealth of ground water level measurements should be used for additional <br /> data analysis/interpretation to aid in the understanding of the dynamic <br /> hydraulic conditions at the site and in model calibration. We recommend <br /> that the following graphics be prepared: hydrographs, change maps and head <br /> difference maps. <br /> 5. Nestle will submit a final modeling report which summarizes the final model <br /> calibration and which addresses our comments and concerns in the enclosed <br /> memorandum. <br />
