No COCs were detected in any of the effluent samples collected during the 2010
sampling events. The Stockton Avenue treatment system was 100% efficient in removing
CDCs from the extracted groundwater.
The average TDS concentrations in the groundwater showed an increase in 2010 (847mg/L) as
compared to 2009 (779 mg/L). Metals concentrations in the effluent samples in 2010 (Table
9.1) were similar to historical metals concentrations in groundwater.
4.3 PRIVATE WELLHEAD TREATMENT SYSTEMS
ECM conducted O&M activities on three private wellhead treatment systems in 2010. The
wellhead treatment systems at 7501 Kiernan Avenue and 5725 Hall Road consist of two 1,000-
pound GAC vessels in series. The treatment system at 802 Vera Avenue consists of two 200-
pound GAC vessels in series. The 2010 MRP lists the performance monitoring and sampling
requirements associated with these systems, all of which ECM fulfilled in 2010. Table 9.2
summarizes the VOC analysis results. Analytical results for effluent samples were below
laboratory detection limits for drinking water for all the CDCs tested in 2010 at the three wells.
4.3.1 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
The 5725 Hall Road system is equipped with a totalizer to monitor the volume of water treated.
A total of 2.15 MG of water was treated between December 22, 2009 and December 21, 2010,
equivalent to an average water use of 5,901 gallons per day or approximately 179,000 gallons
per month. The 7501 Kiernan Avenue and 802 Vera Avenue systems are not equipped with a
totalizer. Therefore, the data on gallons of water treated are not available to report.
In addition to routine maintenance, the following activities were performed in 2010:
24
