PHS-EHD is hereby authorizing the additional site work in order that the
endings provide conclusive data in supplement to the Phase II Report. Following
PHS-EHD's completed review of the document, additional comments may be provided
to you.
In the May 14, 1992 letter, PHS-EHD instructed you to perform, at a minimum,
quarterly monitoring of the monitoring wells. Based upon a recent telephone
conversation with a member of my staff, monthly groundwater measurements shall
be performed to detect any signs of gradient fluctuations. The measurement data
may be submitted from you in letter format.
Groundwater sampling may be waived at this time in order to perform the
additional drilling as recommended by WHF Consultants. It will be necessary for
your consultant to recommend the appropriate monitoring schedule based upon the
conclusive field evidence.
The permit currently on file with PHS-EHD may be invalid should the drilling
contractor change. Please contact Diane Hinson, Supervising RENS, of my staff
at (209) 468-3452 for permitting information.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
Health O fice
D hH n, REHS, •P ram Manager
Environmental Health Division
DOH/dmh
cc: Michael Kloberdanz
WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc.
CVRWQCB - B.
