1. 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This document describes the specific safety procedures to be <br /> utilized for all personnel involved with the field investigation <br /> activities to be conducted at the property located at 950 <br /> Industrial Drive in Stockton, California. This plan presents a <br /> realistic approach to the anticipated hazards at the site. It is <br /> expected that site conditions may vary. As actual site conditions <br /> change, parts of this plan may be upgraded or downgraded. All <br /> changes in this plan must be approved by the Health and Safety <br /> Officer (HSO) . <br /> All workers, visitors and regulatory personnel are expected to be <br /> familiar with and comply with all aspects of this plan. Any <br /> individuals who fail to comply with the protection levels or other <br /> low provisions of the plan will be excluded from all active work areas <br /> (exclusion zones) , as deemed appropriate by the HSO. Any visitors <br /> and regulatory personnel wishing to have access to the active work <br /> +-w areas must provide written documentation of compliance with the <br /> training and medical monitoring requirements of the plan, prior to <br /> entry. <br /> Irk <br /> All protective equipment necessary for on-site employees will be <br /> provided by each of the contractors for their own personnel. All <br /> regulatory personnel and visitors on site are expected to provide <br /> their own protective equipment which equals or exceeds that <br /> required by this plan. <br /> .e. The information presented in this plan will be reviewed with the <br /> employees of Cypress Environmental and Spectrum Exploration, Inc. <br /> during the site-specific training. A copy of this plan will be <br /> WN. maintained on site and kept available at all times during execution <br /> of the field program. <br /> 2 . 0 SITE DESCRIPTION/SITE ACTIVITIES <br /> r.., A fiberglass production facility located at the site utilized <br /> underground storage tanks ("USTs") to store acetone and spent <br /> acetone. The USTs have previously been removed. Soil sample <br /> analytical results have previously indicated the presence of <br /> acetone and other volatile organics such as 2-butanone, 4-methyl-2- <br /> pentanone, ethylbenzene, styrene, xylenes, and benzaldehyde. <br /> The activities to be conducted at the site include drilling of one <br /> or more shallow soil borings through and/or near the former tank <br /> pit areas using hollow-stem augers and collection of one or more <br /> soil samples for chemical analysis. <br /> low <br /> -1- <br /> Environmental Health Consultants <br />
