March 23,2006
NOA PROJECT NUMBER E05131A
' drill conditions were watched in an attempt to help identify the lithology of the boreholes.
3.4.1 Lithology of Borehole B 1
' Approximately one foot of top soil was observed at the ground surface. During the advancement of
the borehole, silty sand was encountered to a depth of approximately 24 feet bgs. At approximately 24
' feet bgs, silts and fine sand layers were encountered to a depth of approximately 40 feet bgs. At
approximately 40 feet bgs, medium to coarse grained sand was encountered to a depth of approximately
50 feet bgs. From approximately 50 feet bgs, fine grained material was encountered to the total depth
' of the borehole at 59 feet bgs.The borehole was terminated at 59 feet bgs due to auger refusal.
Wet conditions were encountered within the borehole at 40 feet bgs to 50 feet bgs.
' 3.4.2 Lithology of Borehole B2
' Approximately one foot of top soil was observed at the ground surface. During the advancement of
the borehole, clayey and sandy silts were encountered to a depth of approximately 18 feet bgs. At
approximately 18 feet bgs, a coarse to medium grained sand unit was encountered to a depth of
approximately 22 feet bgs. At approximately 22 feet bgs, a silt layer was encountered to a depth of
approximately 26 feet bgs. At approximately 26 feet bgs,a gravel layer was encountered to a depth of
approximately 27 feet bgs. At approximately 27 feet bgs, a silt layer was encountered to a depth of
' approximately 44 feet bgs. At approximately 44 feet bgs, a coarse to medium grained sand layer was
encountered to a depth of approximately 58 feet bgs. At approximately 58 feet bgs, a silt layer was
encountered to the total depth of the borehole at 59.5 feet bgs.The borehole was terminated at 59.5
feet bgs.
Wet conditions were encountered within the borehole at 44 feet bgs to the total depth of the borehole
' at 59.5 feet bgs.
3.4.3 Lithology of Borehole B3
No top soil was observed at the ground surface. The surface was deep tilled approximately 1.5 feet
prior to construction at the site. During the advancement of the borehole, sandy silts and silty sands
were encountered to a depth of approximately 18 feet bgs. At approximately 18 feet bgs,a clayey silt
unit was encountered to a depth of approximately 38 feet bgs. At approximately 38 feet bgs, sandy silt
and silty sand layers were encountered to a depth of approximately 54 feet bgs. At approximately 54
feet bgs,a sand layer was encountered to the total depth of the borehole at 60 feet bgs. The borehole
was terminated at 60 feet bgs.
Wet conditions were encountered within the borehole at 40 feet bgs to the total depth of the borehole
at 60 feet bgs.
4 "00,04
