As a result of the
review, it was determined that you are not in compliance with corrective action directives. On
January 25, 2000, Public Health Services, San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Division
(County), issued a letter requiring that a work plan to investigate the vertical and lateral extent of
contamination at the above referenced site be submitted by February 25, 2000. According to the
County files, the required work has not been conducted.
Section 2811(b)(3) of the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund Regulations requires that
you remain in compliance with corrective action directives issued by the local regulatory agency.
For cases such as yours, the Fund is providing responsible parties with 90 calendar days to come
into compliance. You must take positive, concrete steps to begin the necessary investigative
work at your site in order to come into compliance. Those steps must include:
1. Demonstrate how you have complied with the County letter dated January 25, 2000.• If you
have not complied, contact Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337 to obtain current corrective action
directives which are specific to current site conditions, and
2. Obtain three bids for the required work, and
3. Sign a contract with one of the bidders, and
4. Obtain pre-approval from the Fund prior to initiation of proposed work.
If you need assistance with the bidding process, selection of the low bidder, or desire pre-
approval of the costs before proceeding with the work, contact Wennilyn Fua at(916) 227-4518'.
Keep in mind that all workplans must be approved by the regulatory agency prior to
implementing.
California Environmental Protection Agency
(a Recycled Paper
