NOA DrywelI Closure and Investigation Work Plan Page 11 of 16 <br /> March 18, 2014 <br /> Revised March 20, 2014 <br /> 4.6.2 Laboratory OC/OA <br /> Laboratory QC/QA will consist of the following: <br /> Method Blanks <br /> • Lab Control Spikes <br /> • Lab Control Spike Duplicates <br /> ' Matrix Control Spikes <br /> • Matrix Control Spike Duplicates <br /> • Surrogate Recoveries <br /> The laboratory analytical reports will provide a detailed summary of the QC/QA sample results, <br /> a written statement affirming that QC was met, and a description of any discrepancies that may <br /> ' have occurred. <br /> Holdino Time Compliance <br /> ' Sample preparation and analysis will be completed within the required method holding times, <br /> including 14 days for Volatile Organics, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, and Total Recoverable <br /> Petroleum Hydrocarbons, 7 days for semi-volatile organics, 180 days for most metals, and 28 <br /> ' days for mercury. In addition, preservative will be added to groundwater samples as described <br /> in Section 4.3.1. Holding time begins at the time of sample collection. If holding times are <br /> exceeded, and the analyses are performed, the associated results will be qualified as described <br /> ' in the applicable validation procedure. The following definitions of extraction and analysis <br /> compliance are used to assess holding times: <br /> ' • Preparation or extraction completion - completion of the sample preparation <br /> process as described in the applicable method, prior to any necessary extract <br /> cleanup. <br /> iAnalysis completion - completion of all analytical runs, including dilutions, second-column <br /> confirmations, and any required re-analyses. <br /> ' Sample Preservation <br /> ' Sample preservation both before and after relinquishment into laboratory custody will be <br /> compared to the acceptable preservation and holding methods described in this work plan.
