' 14.0 DECONTAMINATION Personal Decontamination Decontamination procedures, based on Level D protection, will consist of the following: • Brushing heavily soiled boots. • Removing gloves and depositing them in a designated container. • Washing hands and face, and preferably showering as soon as practical. All disposable clothing and plastic sheeting used during activities will be properly disposed of in accordance with DTSC protocol. ' Equipment Decontamination All heavy equipment will be decontaminated by brushing as necessary. Decontamination of ' sampling equipment is discussed in the Sampling Workplan. Decontamination of Injured Workers ' Any personnel injured or exposed in the work zone will be decontaminated by the above personal decontamination procedures prior to removal from the work zone, if this is possible without incurring further injury. 15.0 EMERGENCY INFORMATION ' All hazardous waste site activities present a risk to onsite personnel. During routine operations, risk is minimized by establishing good work practices, staying alert and using proper PPE. Unpredictable events such as physical injury, chemical exposure, or fire may occur and must be ' anticipated. 15.1 Site Resources ' Communications 1 Site personnel will have cellular telephones for communication. 15.2 Pre-Emergency Planning During the site briefing that is held daily, all site workers will be trained in and reminded of the provisions of the emergency response plan, communications systems, and evacuation routes.
