ATC will be on-site on <br /> Thursday June 4, 2009 to conduct borehole clearance activities which includes meeting with a private utility <br /> locator and using air-knife equipment to clear the boring locations to a minimum of 51 ". The borings will be <br /> backfilled with native materials once cleared . ATC will advance the soil borings on Friday June 5, 2009 . A grout <br /> inspection will be needed by 12 :00 noon . Mr. John Sellman will be on-site both days to oversee the work. John 's <br /> cell number is 209-872-5291 . Please coordinate with John regarding the grout inspection . I will request John to <br /> do the same. Thanks. <br /> The lab states that the upgradient soil samples will be used for evaluating the attenuation of hexavalent chromium <br /> in treated groundwater only, if this metal is produced following treatment with ozone. If the lab were to run each <br /> soil sample type for full scale bench scale testing , the estimated cost would essentially double from - $ 12,000 to <br /> - $25,000 . Since the ozone injection would only be conducted within the impacted soil and groundwater zone, it <br /> seems logical to conduct the bench scale study using the impacted soil and groundwater first and then <br /> incorporating the upgradient soil samples for evaluating the attenuation of hexavalent chromium in groundwater, if <br /> necessary.
