Work Plan for Temporary Soil Vapor Probes Boyett Petroleum-Manteca
June 17, 2008 419 S. Main Street,Manteca, California
survey area: Manteca High School located at 450 E. Yosemite Avenue approximately, 1,400
feet northwest of the Site and Manteca Community Day School located at 680 Mikesell
Avenue, located approximately 1,600 feet east of the Site.
In a letter dated May 29 2003, Mr. Jefferey Wong of the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department (SJCEHD) requested that a door-to-door survey of the residential area be
conducted to supplement the previously submitted SRS. Condor conducted a door-to-door
survey and visual inspection of the residential area within a 500-foot radius of the Site. The
closest well found was located at 144 W. Wetmore Street, approximately 500 feet west
(down-gradient) of the Site, the caretaker indicated she did not know the use of the well.
Condor requested permission to sample the well; the well was sampled on August 6, 2003.
Laboratory analysis indicated that TPHg, BTEX and gasoline oxygenates/additives were not
detected at or above the laboratory detection limits.
2.0 FIELD INVESTIGATION
The proposed scope of work consists of installing and sampling a total of two temporary soil
vapor probes. The proposed soil vapor probes are located near areas of contamination and
within 10 feet of the building. The proposed soil vapor probe locations are depicted on
Figure 1.
2.1 Preliminary Field Activities
Prior to initiating field activities, Closure Solutions will obtain the necessary drilling permits,
prepare a Site Health and Safety Plan (HASP) for the proposed work, and clear the Site for
rsubsurface utilities. The utility clearance will include notifying Underground Service Alert
W
(USA) of the pending work a minimum of 48 hours prior to initiating the field investigation,
and securing the services of a private utility locating company to confirm the absence of
underground utilities at each boring location.
A HASP will be prepared for use by personnel implementing the Work Plan. The HASP will
address hazards associated with the proposed field, work. A copy of the HASP will be
available on-Site during field work. The subcontractor(s) performing field activities will be
r
provided with a copy of the HASP prior to initiating work. A safety tailgate meeting will
also be conducted daily to review the Site hazards and work scope.
i
Page 4 of 8 Closure Solutions,Inc
1
