Boyett Petroleum,Manteca
Third Quarter 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Page 5
4.4 LABORATORY ANALYTICAL RESULTS
1 The laboratory analytical results indicate that BTEX constituents and TPH-G were not detected at or above the
laboratory reported detection limits in the groundwater samples collected from MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-6,
MW-7, MW-8, and MW-9. The selected gasoline oxygenates/additives were not detected at or above the
1 laboratory reported detection limits in the groundwater samples collected from. MW-3, MW-6, and MW-8.
MTBE was detected in the groundwater samples collected from MW-1, MW-2, MW-7, and MW-9 at
concentrations of 1,700 µg/L, 330 µg/L, 12,000 µg/L, and 0.8 gg/L, respectively. TAME was detected in the
groundwater samples collected from MW-1 and MW-7 at concentrations of 2.7 gg/L and 42 pg/L, respectively.
The laboratory analytical results for the third quarter 2002 quarterly groundwater monitoring event are presented
to Table 2, below. Historical groundwater monitoring data are presented in Appendix C. The laboratory
1 certificates of analyses and chain-of-custody record are included in Appendix D.
TABLE 2
Laboratory Analytical Results (September 26, 2002)
Oxygenates/Additives
B T E X TPH-G
MTBE Other Oxygenates/Additives
Detection 0.5 0.5 0.5 1.0 0.05 0.5 0.5-5.0
Limits: pg/L gg/L pg/L pg/L mg/L pg/L pg/L
I Analytical Method: 8260B 8260B 8260E 8260B 8015M 8260B 8260B
Sample I.D.
3761-MW1-9126102 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1.0 <0.05 1,700 2.7 TAME
3761-MW2-9/26/02 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1.0 <0.05 330 <0.5-5.0
3761-MW3-9126102 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1.0 <0.05 <0.5 <0.5-5A
3761-MW6-9130102 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1.0 <0.05 <0.5 <0.5-5.0
3761-MW7-9/26/02 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1,0 <0.05 12,000 42 TAME
3761-MW8-9126/02 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1.0 <0.05 <0.5 <0.5-5.0
3761-MW9-9126/02 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1.0 <0.05 0.8 <0.5-5.0
Unit Conversions: Analytical
µg/L: parts per billion(ppb) BTEX=benzene,toluene,ethyl benzene,and total xylenes.
mg/L: parts per million(ppm) TPH-G=total petroleum hydrocarbons,quantified as gasoline.
MTBE=methyl tertiary-butyl ether
EtOH=ethanol
TBA=tertiary-butanol
DIPE di-isopropyl ether
ETBE=ethyl tertiary-butyl ether
TAME=tertiary-amyl methyl ether
1,2-DCA=1,2-dichloroethane
EDB= 1,2-Dibromoethane
5.0 SENSITIVE RECEPTOR SURVEY
t-onaor conducted a sensitive receptor survey within a 2,uuu-loot radius (study area) of the site on November
20, 2002, to identify potential areas of groundwater recharge or discharge (surface water bodies), schools, and
potential water well users that could be impacted by migration of groundwater from the site (Figure 5,
Appendix A). The sensitive receptor survey consisted of inquiries to the California Department of Water
N .
1 CONDOR
