Page 6 <br /> Project No.: 646.2 <br /> Hayres(Mdnthey) <br /> Tank Investigation Report <br /> June 26, 1998 <br /> The objective of this investigation would be to: <br /> • Determine the types of chemicals present as contamination <br /> • Define the total mass of the various contaminants <br /> • Define the volume of the contaminated subsurface <br /> • Estimate the potential rate of transport away from the source through the vadose zone and <br /> groundwater <br /> This information can then be used to evaluate the risk these chemicals pose to public health <br /> and the environment and to establish cleanup goals. <br /> 7.0 LIMITATIONS <br /> This report was prepared in accordance with the accepted standards and practices of the field <br /> of environmental geology, groundwater hydrology and good business practices. It should be <br /> recognized that definition and evaluation of environmental conditions is a difficult and <br /> inexact science. Judgments leading to conclusions and recommendations are generally made <br /> with an incomplete knowledge of the site-specific conditions present. <br /> The tasks proposed and completed during this project were reviewed and approved by the <br /> local regulatory agency for compliance with the law.
