Manthey Road <br /> Lathrop CA 95206 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division <br /> (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the June 26, 1998 "Tank Closure and Site <br /> Investigation Report" prepared by Geological Technics for the above referenced <br /> site. <br /> The purpose of this investigation was to confirm the presence or absence of two <br /> 10,000 gallon diesel and two 1,000 gallon gasoline underground storage tanks <br /> (UST's), and to determine the extent of any hydrocarbon contamination released <br /> from these four tanks. During the course of the investigation additional data was <br /> gathered from other locations of suspected contamination. These locations <br /> included a drinking water well, the area beneath a former 10,000 gallon above <br /> ground storage tank (AST), an abandoned septic tank, a service pit, a waste <br /> water sump and a storm water retention pond. <br /> There is evidence to indicate that contamination is present from both the 1,000 <br /> gallon gasoline UST's and the 10,000 gallon diesel UST's. Diesel has been <br /> confirmed in a soil sample from the area of the former 10,000 gallon UST at a <br /> concentration of 81 parts per million (ppm). MTBE has been confirmed by EPA <br /> Method 8260 at a concentration of .0082 ppm from the area of the 1,000 gallon <br /> UST. <br /> Samples with the highest concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons discovered <br /> at the site were obtained from soil and ground water beneath the former AST. <br /> Diesel was detected in a soil sample at a concentration of 10,000 ppm and total <br /> extractable petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the ground water sample <br /> at a concentration of 310,000 parts per billion (ppb). <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Carc Services <br />
