If ambient temperatures exceed 75T, the following work/rest regimes is recommended. <br /> Temperature Work Rest <br /> 75 - 80 90 min. 15 min. <br /> 80 - 85 60 min. 15 min.* <br /> 85 - 90 45 min. 15 min.* <br /> 90 - 95 30 min. 15 min.* <br /> *Rest in a shaded area. <br /> At least 8 ounces of cool water, Gatorade, or diluted fruit juice must be consumed at <br /> each rest break. Guidelines assume light to moderate work. <br /> 5.9.3 Personnel Operating Procedures <br /> • Do not walk through areas of obvious or known contamination. <br /> • Do not handle or touch contaminated materials directly. <br /> • Make sure all PPE has no cuts or tears prior to donning. <br /> • Inspect the integrity of the PPE regularly. <br /> • Fasten all closures on suits, covering with tape if necessary. <br /> • Take particular care to protect any existing skin injuries. <br /> • Stay upwind of airborne contaminants, <br /> • Do not carry cigarettes, gum, etc. into contaminated areas. <br /> • Refer to Site H&S Officer for specific concerns for each individual site task. Do not climb <br /> over/under drums, or other obstacles and always employ the buddy system. <br /> • Practice contamination avoidance, on- and off-site. Activities should be planned ahead of <br /> time. <br /> • Apply immediate first aid to any and all cuts, scratches, abrasions, etc. <br /> • Report all accidents, no matter how minor, to the SSO. <br /> • Be alerted to your own physical condition. Watch your buddy for signs of fatigue, exposure, <br /> etc. <br /> 27 <br />
