One damaged lead cid car battery was observed in the auto shop area. The battery was missing <br /> a cap. Store the battery i a compatible closed container and label with the accumulation start date. <br /> Dispose of as specified in Title 22 California Code of Regulations. Send a copy of the disposal receipt to <br /> the EHD by November 15 2010. <br /> 23. One oil filter was obs ed on top of the used oil drum. Used oil filters must be stored in a closed, <br /> rainproof container, label d as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an accumulation start date. <br /> Immediately place the oil Ilter into a closed container and label. Ensure that all used oil filters are <br /> managed in this way. Us d oil filters may be recycled as scrap metal instead of being handled as <br /> hazardous waste. Immed ately begin recycling used oil filters as scrap metal or manage as hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> 27. One 55-gallon wasteit drum and one 55-gallon waste antifreeze drum were open during the <br /> inspection. All hazardous aste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing <br /> waste. Immediately close hese containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when <br /> not adding or removing w ste. <br /> 52. An emergency coordi ator and modified contingency plan information is lacking. There must be at <br /> least one emergency coor inator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and <br /> the following information ust be posted by a phone: the name and phone number of the emergency <br /> coordinator; location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the <br /> phone number of the firedepartment, unless the facility has a direct alarm. Immediately appoint an <br /> emergency coordinator and post the required information by a phone. A form is provided that can be <br /> used for this purpose. Su mit a copy of the information to the EHD by November 15, 2010. <br /> 84. Eight aerosol cans wit out spray tops in the auto shop area and seven fluorescent lamp tubes in <br /> the drama department wer observed. Old fluorescent tubes and partially full waste aerosol cans are <br /> universal waste. The facili is unable to demonstrate the length of time the universal waste has been <br /> accumulated from the date it became a waste. Dispose of as specified in Title 22 California Code of <br /> Regulations.
