The following incomp tible chemical storage was observed during the inspection: <br /> Room G-6: One gallon of oncentrated ammonium hydroxide (corrosive) was stored with one gallon of <br /> isopropanol (flammable) i a fume hood. <br /> Room G-4: One gallon of oncentrated ammonium hydroxide (corrosive base) was stored with one quart <br /> of concentrated hydrochlo is acid (corrosive acid) in a storage cabinet. <br /> Room G-4: One gallon of oncentrated sulfuric acid and one quart of concentrated hydrochloric acid <br /> (corrosive acids) was stor d with one pound of potassium hydroxide solid (corrosive base) in a storage <br /> cabinet. <br /> The following release of h zardous waste was observed: Oil staining on the concrete outside the auto <br /> shop classroom. <br /> Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of <br /> hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br /> Immediately organize the chemical storage and place incompatible chemicals within separate secondary <br /> containment. Clean up th oil staining and manage the waste according to Title 22 hazardous waste <br /> regulations. Submit a stat�ment and supporting documentation explaining how the oil cleanup waste <br /> and the chemical storage were managed by November 15, 2010. <br /> 20. The following was found in the auto shop area: One 55-gallon drum was labeled "waste antifreeze" <br /> only. One 55-gallon drum was labeled with a yellow label which could not be read due to the drum <br /> orientation. All hazardous aste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous ste" <br /> 2. name and address of ge erator <br /> 3. hazardous properties <br /> 4. physical state <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these co tainers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br /> information. Since it canno be determined how long the two drums have been on site, immediately <br /> contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of <br /> the manifest to the EHD by November 15, 2010. <br /> ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE($122). <br /> THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> EHD Inspec ved�"" 12e <br /> EHD 2373 Rev 08/10/107 CONTINUATION FORM <br /> i <br />
