S E C 0 R
' Cleanup Plan
October 27, 2003
' Page 13
subsequent quarterly groundwater monitoring report. Results of the monthly performance monitoring
will be reviewed to evaluate the effectiveness of the groundwater oxygenation system.
' 6.0 WORK PLAN FOR GROUNDWATER OXYGENATION POINT INSTALLATION
' This work plan describes the field work and data collection process for the installation of the sixty-five
oxygenation points.
6.1 Proposed Scope of Work
' The scope of work proposed includes the advancement of sixty-five soil borings using hollow-stem
augers, and the completion of each boring as a groundwater oxygenation point. The locations of
' proposed groundwater oxygenation points are shown on Figure 7.
A summary of field procedures that will be followed during this work is presented in Attachment E.
The specific scope of work is described below.
6.2 Site Health and Safety Plan
' As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous
Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 Code of Federal Regulations Section
1910.120), and by California Occupational Health and Safety Administration (Cal-OSHA) "Hazardous
,• Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (California Code of Regulations Title 8,
Section 5192), SECOR will prepare, or modify the existing, site-specific health and safety plan
(SHSP) prior to the commencement of fieldwork. Field staff and contractors will review the SHSP
' before beginning field operations at the site.
6.3 Permitting
The applicable permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(SJC-EHD), as necessary, prior to drilling.
' 6.4 Groundwater Oxygenation Point Installation, Soil Samples, and Analysis
The boreholes for the groundwater oxygenation points will be advanced using 8-inch hollow-stem
' augers to depths of approximately 25 feet bgs. Actual groundwater oxygenation point completion
depths will be determined based on field conditions. Upon completion of drilling, 1-inch diameter
groundwater oxygenation point will be installed in each of the boreholes. A 1-foot screen interval will
be placed at the bottom of each point.
Soil samples for logging purposes will be collected at 5-foot intervals from ground surface to the total
completion depth. Vapor headspace monitoring will be conducted on soil samples collected in 5-foot
intervals from ground surface to total completion depth. Selected soil samples will be submitted to a
California state certified laboratory, and analyzed for the following constituents:
' TPHg and TPHd using modified EPA Method 8015,
• BTEX by EPA Method 8260B,
• MtBE, TAME, TBA, 1,2-DCA, EDB, DIPE and EtBE by EPA Method 82606, and,
I:\Chevron\1001621\RE PO RTS1201312003-Clean up Plan\Cleanup Plan.doc
