30 June 1999
. AGE-NC Project No. 98-0468
Page'9 of 12
1
5.3.4. Fuel Oxygenating Compounds
'. MTBE was detected in two of the eleven soil samples anal zed{Table 5). Reported concentrations
P Y ,
of MTBE were only detected in soil samples collected from soil boring B-4 04W=4). MTBE was
detected at concentrations of 65 Mg/kg and 110 gg/kg in soil samples collected at 17.5 and 20 feet
bsg,-respectively. There were'no reported-detections of DIPE, ETBE, TAME, or TBA in any of-the
soil'samples analyzed.
5A. ` GROUND WATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS
A total of eight ground;water samples were collected at the site during the additional site assessment
and ground water monitoring activities. Ground water samples were collected from soil borings B-1 -
'' through.B73;and monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5. Ground water.sample analytical results
are summarized in Tables 6. The Iaboratory analytical report is included in Appendix D. Ground
' water sample analytical results are presented below.
Is_ 5.4.1. Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Total Xylenes
Toluene was the only BTEX constituent detected in any-of the ground water samples analyzed
' (Table.6). Toluene was only detected in the sample collected from monitoring well MW-2 at a
concentration of 0.35 µg/1, which was slightly above the laboratory reporting limit of 0.3 µg/1. The
reported detection of toluene was below the DHS-establish maximum contaminant level (MCL) for
' toluene of 150 µg/l. There were no report detections of BTEX constituents in any of the other
samples analyzed.
5.4.2. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline
There were no reported detections of TPH-g in any of the ground water samples (Table,6).
5.4.3. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons.as Diesel
' Concentrations of TPH-d were detected in two of the eight ground water samples analyzed (Table 6), .
TPH-d was reported in samples B-2 and B-3 at concentrations of 570µg/1 and 130µg/1,respectively.
There were no reported detections of TPH-d in,ground.water samples B-1,or MW-1 through MW-5.,
' Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc.
